OK, this morning I was sitting in my happy place...my front porch...talking to my best friend, Launi. I told her how I wish I could talk to all my friends all over the world while sitting right here. She was silent. Then she said, "Well, go get your laptop and talk to them"
Duh! Why didn't I think of that?
So right now I am sitting on my front porch, tapped into the wireless internet my son, Boy Genius installed and now I'm talking to you.
So dear friends, lets chat... and tell me, what do you think I should paint and write today?

Thank you, thank you, thank you for such wonderful creations. I found your prints in a small shop in Traverse City MI last month and couldnt stop reading. (My husband eventually left and sat on a bench). If you ask me "what would you like to see me create" I would say Army Mom, AF Mom, Navy Mom... you get the picture. I transformed in just a few short years from a Army Wife to an Army Mom. My heart is filled with overwhelming pride and fear at the same time. Just my thought. Thank you for sharing your gift!
ReplyDeleteSuzy, I met you and purchased one of your daughter in-law prints at the Fairhope Art Fair in Ala. This last Mother's Day the same daughter in-law gave me your Mother In-law cup from a store in Midland, Michigan. She did not even recognize it being the same artist, you!!! We both love your work and hope to have many more items in our homes.
ReplyDeleteI would like to have 6 more "Legends in their own minds" frames. We have a group that eats out once a week called Nacho Club and I bought that frame for our picture a few years back and they all want one. Please consider doing that again. So cute!
ReplyDeleteI love all the colorful skirts you wear in all your photos! Do you design those also? I would love to see something for a woman that is not my natural mom, but since the death of my own mom, she's the closest I have to a mom right now and love her to death.
ReplyDeleteI love all your designs!! When are you coming to AZ???
Mary L., Payson, AZ
I'd like to see "She Who Has Healing Hands", but not with a medical theme....geared more toward the healing arts of massage, Reiki, etc.

ReplyDeleteMy friend Patty will be chatting with you all...we are loving your stuff Sistah in Billings, Montana

I just discovered your work and LOVE it! I bought 3 of your Wacky Women verses and art prints for gifts. "What can I create?", you ask -- well, I really need something for a new Nursing graduate. Could you come up with something honoring that great nurturing profession?
ReplyDeleteJo Ann in Idaho (I am also a nurse!)
Did you see the piece called "she with healing hands"? It is part of the Wonderful Wacky Women collection They are alphabetically organized an it will be under "h" for healing It is written and painted specifically to the nursing profession. If you can't find it on the website use the little search box and type "healing hands". Or call my studio and they can send you a link. 800-632-2175. Glad you enjoy my work.
ReplyDeleteAloha,Suz
Suzy I fell in love!! I found your art this past weekend at the Strawberry Festival in Oxnard California and wanted to buy EVERYTHING!! If you are thinking of something to paint how about something with shoes???? I can't wait to but the Pink Ribbon for my two very best friends who battled and won breast cancer. Please make the luggage tags with an African American woman...although in the end it does not matter. And I wholeheartledly agree it all about the Plan B!! When will you be in California again????
ReplyDeleteHi Stephanie, I do have two shoe pieces in my second book..the purple one. They are also available as prints. Also our ethnic versions are getting broader and broader. we offer most of our best sellers in ethnic looks but have not yet done luggage tags. Hopefully soon.
ReplyDeleteALoha, Suz
I would like you to create a version of "She with Healing Hands" for massage therapists. I have fibromyalgia and my massage therapist gets me through many painful days. I would love to honor her.
ReplyDeleteAlso, could you show or explain how the art piece and the story are actually portrayed on the 8x10 & 5x7 art. Are they next to each other or on front & back?
And...do you sell cups? or can you tell me where to find them? I have seen them but can't find the saying I am looking for.
A healing hands for the alternate healing arts is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteAlso, so answer your question about how the story is shown, on the 8x10 the story is side by side in a duo opening (Two window) mat In the 5x7, its on the back.
Coffee mugs are sold through one of my licensees and can be found in gift shops across the country or online by google-ing Suzy Toronto Mugs.
Suzy, I agree with the lady who requested something for someone who is not her natural mom. I to would like to honor someone who has been like a mom to me, someone who has nurtured and cared for and cheered me on. I was also wondering, for those of us with longer names and addresses, is there a way to make the address lines on your fabulous luggage tags read horizonally instead of vertically? I've given SEVERAL of these as gifts and for those of us with longer names, it is sort of difficult to get the name on the card...just a suggestion. Love, Love, Love your
ReplyDeletestuff! Keep it coming for all of the Goddesses!
Hey Judith, all the "She Who" Wacky Women tags are vertical but all the funny saying in the TingleHeart line are all horizontal... check them out!
ReplyDeleteBasically if it reads horizontally on the front, it reads that way on the back and the same goes for the vertical pieces.
I just found your website by accident and I really love all of the art. I clicked on the "support our troops" and loves those too....but....lol....I was in the Marine Corps myself and would love to see a poster like "She who is a Marine" with all the colors and flags and maybe a uniform? Anyway keep up the great art and I'll be sure and share your site with my family and friends!!
ReplyDeleteA friend and co-worker found one of your calendars for 2012 and brought it to work. I fell in love with it and all your sayings! I will be turning 50 on the 29th of this month and love your saying about age is just an attitude...anyway, needless to say I will be putting several of your creations on my wish list.
ReplyDeleteHi Suzy,
ReplyDeleteBack in September, I asked about a "Healing Hands" for massage therapists, and you thought it was a great idea. Have you thought more about it. I was hoping to get one to give for Christmas, but it is too late for that. Will you be working on it soon. I really love my therapist. She is not only my "Healing Hands", but has become a very good girlfriend with whom I share & pray. Please, can you have one done for next Christmas?
Sincerly,
Sam Byers
I would love to see a "She Who Uses A Wheelchair"! A bright PINK wheelchair! Oh Suzy, your art touches every paRT of my being! So many of your pieces relate to my life. I had 6 lumpectomies and many different cancer treatments before I had a double mastectomy. Hey! How about a "She Who Has No Boobs"!!?? ; )
ReplyDeleteNow cancer has "tried" to take over my life and body! It's settled into other places in my body, most importantly in my brain stem. Girl, that Brain Stem is pretty much the "control center" of the body, so some days I feel pretty messed up! They said it "terminal". Six weeks possible. THAT was in Oct. 2008! HA! My Physician is The Great Physician!
I WILL say that some days are more difficult than others, but I always find something to smile about. Back to the Wheelchair! Cancer took my left leg 2 years ago. I'm a Below The Knee (left leg) Amputee who is in a wheelchair full time. I would just love to see something for women who use wheelchairs!
Big Hugs from MN. ~ Jo
Hi Suzy,
ReplyDeleteI love your artwork! Would you consider doing something with "Brothers" like you do with the sisters. I would love to have a picture with 6 sisters and 2 brothers to give to all my siblings. Thanks for considering this idea!
Lisa
Hey Lisa, email me at suzy@suzytoronto.com and we can talk about getting the brothers and sisters pieces. Suzy.
ReplyDeleteTHANKS SUZY! emailing now....
ReplyDeleteI was looking for my new 2016 calendar and was disappointed to see that the small size wall calendar was no where to be found. Have you discontinued them? We live full time in our RV and travel and this small calendar is the perfect size to fit in the small space I have for a calendar. Sure hope you are still creating them!!
ReplyDeleteJanet I do not carry them on my website but they are available through Amazon. The title this year of the small one is "Color Outside the Lines"
